This project included a new residence, guest house and garage. The solution involves a simple, efficient two story gable building form that was manipulated to provide interest and complexity. The positioning of the three structures defines a series of outdoor living areas including an informal courtyard for the existing swimming pool. The exterior walls are clad with a combination of stained western red cedar shingles and siding.
The home was designed for a family of four with living spaces on the main level and bedrooms & office on the upper level. A large, two story living room is positioned at the center of the main house with spectacular views of the coastal hills. An upper level balcony overlooks the living area. A secret play loft is located above and between the children’s bedrooms.
